Personal profile

Professor Wu is the Executive Director of Peking University Clinical Research Institute. He has been principal investigators of tens of research projects sponsored by national and international founding agencies including China Ministry of Science and Technology, China Natural Science Foundation, the US National Institutes of Health, Australia National Health and Medical Research Council, the UK Medical Research Council, etc. He developed the first cardiovascular risk prediction model for Chinese population, chaired the writing group for Chinese Guidelines on Prevention and Control of Hypertension in Primary Care, and joined the writing groups of multiple Chinese guidelines in the area of cardiovascular disease prevention and control. He published over 260 scientific papers on peer-reviewed journals. He received many awards and honors, including those from the State Council, Ministry of Health, Chinese Medical Association, Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, etc. He is currently also the Chair of the Chinese Non-Public Healthcare Organizations Association Brunch on Chronic Disease Management, the Vice-Chair of the Committee of Health Risk Assessment and Control, Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, and the Director of Peking University-Asian Pacific Economy Council Regulatory Science Center of Excellence.
